"Remember you are priceless." - Dr. Lori Franke Hopkins
You may know Dr. Hopkins from a few of her previous roles.
She has had job titles including: Apple Picker Upper, Marine, Military Police Officer, Security, Director, Teacher, Principal, Author, Superintendent, Entrepreneur, Motivational Speaker, and her 22 year long role of Lead Singer in a Band.
When she walks in a room she instantly has your attention and as she speaks the rooms starts to perk up. We can see why she is a successful motivational speaker. She shared with us many of her previous roles and the lessons she learned from each.
She grew up in Calhoun County where the first job she ever had was the "apple picker upper". She says it's one of the most important jobs she ever had; she learned the importance of not wasting any product as she picked apples off the ground that had fallen from the trees.
"The jobs you least want are sometimes the jobs you learn the most from."
When asked what was the hardest job she has ever had she didn't need to think on it and quickly said: bootcamp. She wanted to quit, but refused to give up. She said being a Marine is also her favorite accomplishment. It's a family tradition as her father and daughter are also Marines.
Her favorite jobs have involved working with kids. It makes sense that she is now a published author with many children's books in her catalog. You can find all of her books on Amazon.
She answered questions the students had as authors of their class business book: Adventures of Carl the Corn.
Stay tuned next Wednesday for a BIG announcement.
Dr. Hopkins also shared some of the tough losses she has experienced in her life and encouraged students to be a positive person because life is short.
Her last piece of advice was for students to hold themselves accountable and to surround themselves with people that hold them to a high expectations.
Thank you so much for speaking with us!
