Jerseyville Public Library • Library Director, Judy Pruitt & Site Superintendent, Caleb Goode
Did you know there will be an all new.... read on. :)
Judy Pruitt is originally from Columbia, MO, but has dove in feet first into the community of Jerseyville. On top of her role at the library she is also the President of the Rotary Club.
She is full of energy and has a laugh that is contagious.
She was previously a 5th grade teacher when she and her husband decided they both wanted to try different careers. She chose going back to school to obtain her masters in library science. With, the beloved, Anita Driver retiring it made for a perfect time for Judy to step in and move closer to her family and grandchild.
Last week, as some of you may know, the library was closed to move to their new service desk in the new building. It is re-open now and we encourage you to go check it out! The new building is not fully accessible, but you can check out the new service desk and peek into the new area.
In addition to a new service desk, there will also be a room with a PODCAST STUDIO! What kind of podcasts would you like to hear created by locals?
+ NEW software for the children's computers!
Caleb Goode is a JCHS graduate and said it has meant a lot to him to be the site superintendent for this project since he grew up going to this library. He is a graduate from Ranken. He talked about having a job in construction and how he worked his way up to his current role.
"The library was very cool and I never realized how historical it was. I’m excited to see the final product of it." - CEO student
Thank you both for showing us around! We enjoyed learning about the history of the library, Andrew Carnegie's involvement, and the progression over the years.
