Jerrod is a hard worker and you can tell that is something that has been handed down generationally. He is also a master marketer. The students always enjoy seeing him do demonstrations and talk about previous marketing tactics he's used. For example, they once placed a piece of SmartStrand carpet across State Street during the Jersey County Fair Parade. They let the entire parade, including the HORSES, go across it and then showed how it cleaned up perfectly. THAT is brilliant marketing!

Ashleigh has a natural talent for design. She can look at a room and know exactly what it needs to maximize the dimensions and function of a space. In addition to perfectly matching the aesthetic a customer desires. She has been a CEO Student Mentor for two years now! Needless to say, our students think she is pretty cool.

When asked their best piece of advice...

Jerrod said, "Perseverance and Persistence" - his dad was often told no when first building the business (in 1973) and he just kept pushing on. "Don't quit and keep going."

Ashleigh said, "if there is a will there is a way" and "kill them with kindness".
