CEO Student Feedback:
• "Joe reminded me of a kid just playing around at his farm! It seemed like he was so happy to show us around to all the different places. "
• "I loved the orchard and picking the apples. I also liked Joe's personality and the fact that he and his wife are managing this business at almost 90 years of age!"
• "I am amazed at his work ethic and dedication to his business."
• "Dennis seems like a nice guy to hang around and it’s cool that he is continuing his parent’s business"
Joe Ringhausen is almost 90 years old and still out picking apples and making cider. Students picked some apples and learned how the apple picking carrier bags work. He also showed us the process to make their delicious award-winning cider.
He picked an apple and immediately took a bite out of it as if he had never one before. When asked if he ever gets sick of apples, with a smile, he quickly said, "not yet".
Later in the day, we stopped at the Apple House. This is the retail store for the orchard, located off of 67 near Delhi, that has a variety of produce and other items. Students were excited to find some jams and of course the award-winning apple cider.
Thank you for hosting us! The apples were delicious and so was the cider!
