We enjoyed the beautiful fall scenery by taking a hike to McAdam's Peak guided by, Randy Holbrook (with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources). You can tell he truly loves his job. He is well educated on all things nature and the history of the state park. It was fun to have our very own tour guide as we walked through the trails enjoying the beautiful fall foliage.
Students enjoyed the ease of the trail and of course the breathtaking views.

We then spoke with the lodge's marketing director, Arielle Niemeyer. She plans around 35 fun-filled events each year for the lodge. She surprised students with goody bags and a mantra on each bag to give them some inspiration and motivation. She gave them advice for planning events as well as marketing. The students plan to put this advice to good use when planning their class business. Be sure to take a stroll through the gift shop and you can find some really unique Christmas gifts that Arielle has hand picked.

The students also enjoyed lunch at the lodge. Many had never ate there before and enjoyed the atmosphere and food.
